Fireplace Smarts for Home Owners

Love Thy Fireplace

Most homeowners LOVE FIREPLACES and the effects of them in their homes without considering the effects on the heating bills.  Open fires are so beautiful and relaxing but they draw the heat from your home which makes the furnace run longer.   When there is no fire burning you still lose heat from the room air going up the chimney.

One of the best ways to conserve heat is by installing glass doors that cover the fireplace.  They control the amount of room air that is lost up the chimney and help to keep the heat from the existing fire to be blown out the blowers to heat the room.  It’s best to have a blower with an automatic on/off switch to adjust to the fire.

There are several companies out there with products to help make your fireplace more efficient for heating your home instead of robbing it of the heat that is already there.   You may check out www.batticdoor.com or www.customfirescreen.com  or www.diamond-w.com or www.northlineexpress.com and finally www.stollfireplaceinc.com.  Enjoy the warmth and beauty that comes with a fireplace that works the way it needs to work for today’s demands.

Tuscarawas Home Sales Up

Tuscarawas Home Sales Up

Homes Selling in Tuscarawas County!

I’ve been bad about blogging but I’ve been good at selling homes to happy buyers lately!

I have sold 6 homes in the past month and look forward to keeping it going. One of the contributing factors to all of this activity is that the prices are so low right now and the interest rates are at all time lows. Then throw in the stimulus package giving first time home buyers $8,000 tax credit and it makes it the perfect time to buy!

I know this is contrary to all of the negative media – but people are buying houses and taking advantage of the buyers market.  I can set buyers up on auto-prospecting with our mls system and their emails to receive listings in the area, price range, etc. the day they go in the computer and my buyers love it.  If you are even thinking of buying a home this year – jump on the band wagon – ignore the media and enjoy all of the benefits of this BUYER’S MARKET!!!!!!!!
